The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam. These registers were kept under the RRWC's regulatory responsibilities for stockyard rates (1919-1922; see Laws 1919 c461) and for licensing of livestock buyers (1935-1967; see Laws 1935 c216). In 1967 the RRWC was replaced by the Public Service Department (Laws 1967 c864), and in 1974 the livestock regulatory functions were transferred to the Department of Agriculture (Laws 1974 c347).
